What is a Beacon?
A beacon is a small, low power transmitter that uses Bluetooth to communicate with other devices. A signal is repeatedly sent out a predetermined range for other devices to see.
How Does this Apply to the Service Industry?
Beacons are small and can be hidden virtually anywhere. Under a seat, bottom of a trash bin, behind an air vent or the back of a desk drawer.
Each Beacon can be customized to transmit the signal a predetermined distance the customers’ cell phones can see. Once seen, the admin page can be set up to assist the staff in servicing the customer with preferences, preferred greeting,
and a picture of each customer for forgetful or new employees.
